The automotive industry has changed so much in the last 35 years. Shortly after opening for business in 1980, Price Manufacturing began supplying components for automotive airbags and restraint systems. Since then, we’ve diversified to machine braking systems, fuel sensors, electronics, and even after-market repairs. Through it all, we’ve kept pace with the ever-evolving engineering standards and production needs of the industry and, today, stand as a well-respected name in automotive precision machining.
Over the years, we’ve learned that quality machining is about more than just getting the job done on time. With every project we complete, both in and out of the automotive industry, we build upon our learning and strive to add real value to our customers. Some of the ways we do this are:
- Providing Alternative Raw Materials: because we’ve been in the automotive industry for so long, we have the advantage of being able to not just execute but evaluate your designs and recommend suitable alternative materials that still meet your requirements. Frequently, we are able to save customers money on their projects by using different quality nickel or aluminum in place of traditionally used chrome.
- Achieving High Precision: we understand that, in certain applications like parts used in safety devices, meeting close tolerance levels can mean the difference between life and death or serious injury. In the past, when approached by a customer requiring a tolerance level our existing equipment couldn’t attain, rather than passing on the job, we invested in better equipment and passed the benefits down to future clients as well.
- Stocking for Unexpected Demand: many of our automotive customers have discovered that their demand can be volatile, changing quickly and without warning. In response, for qualified customers, we will work with you to forecast and update yearly anticipated demand, manufacture and stock a percentage above that demand, and monitor raw material availability, notifying you of shifts promptly to allow for alternate arrangements.
A job well-done is a job done right. For us at Price Manufacturing, this is an ever shifting target but one that we pursue unrelentingly. We examine our own processes under a microscope so you can focus on the project at hand, knowing we’ll deliver your parts on-spec and just in time.
